Hillary Harris, MS, LPC-MHSP

I earned a masters degree in clinical mental health counseling from The University of Memphis in 2017 and became a licensed professional counselor in 2020. I have worked with adults and children in a college counseling center, an outpatient therapy office, and residential treatment facilities to reach their goals. I’ve gained experience supporting clients with a variety of needs and concerns including, but not limited to the following: adjusting to life changes, anxiety, depression, sexual behavior problems (ages 15 and younger), traumatic experiences, setting/respecting boundaries, and anger management. I have over 9 years (5 years in a clinical setting) experience working with youth who have emotional disturbances and display high risk behaviors.

My goal is to get to know my clients apart from their presenting concern. I want to know what is important to them and what motivates them in order to work along side them to reach their goals. I believe that knowledge is power so i work to make sure that my clients are well informed as it relates the potential source and typical manifestations of their concerns. This includes how those concerns tend to manifest in their lives and relationships as a way to better understand and address their concerns, as well as to have grace for themselves.

I work to provide resources, support, and information within sessions to help my clients learn and practice skills that can help them adjust, cope, and grow within their daily lives. We will also work together to build up the needed confidence to apply the skills outside of the office in order for clients to reach their identified treatment goals.

I am dedicated to providing a safe space for children, adolescents, college students, and young adults to gain the confidence and skills needed to live a productive and fulfilling life. Outside of the office, I enjoy reading, camping, creating art, and spending time with my family and friends.
