Hi! My name is Dr. Angel Gooden. I am a board certified Licensed Professional Counselor with a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. I'm a native Memphian who attended Whitehaven High Schoo and graduated from Rhodes College. I received my Masters and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the Texas School of Professional Psychology in Dallas, TX.
I have worked in the mental health field for over 20 years. During that time, I've learned to appreciate the nuances of each individual and what they bring to counseling. I strive to be authentic, observant, slightly challenging, and unconditionally accepting of you as a person. I am experienced in helping individuals of all ages through most life transitions and circumstances. Whether it is working through complex trauma, family dynamics, behavioral concerns, relationship issues, or personal problems, my goal is to help each person develop the skills needed to resolve concerns based on their individual strengths and goals. I want tobe able to see the world through your eyes and use that view viewpoint to equip you with new insights and find lasting change.
I have experience working with clients of all ages. I work with children, teenagers, and adults. I also work with families and couples. I also have training in completing behavioral assessments. Throught my career, I have specialized in working with individuals who have Autism Spectrum Disorder. Those clients and their parenst say, I have a special knack for understanding them and helping to better navigate their life circumstances.
